Election Day 2014

I went to the polling booth at the Government Primary School, Haralur Road with my father. There was a huge crowd at the polling  booth  but still we didn’t need to wait for long to cast our vote. They checked my father’s  ID and then made him sign. Then a lady put ink on my father’s finger. Then the lady let us vote. The EVM had several buttons and the party’s symbols on it.  Press the button of the party you want to vote for and then one sound will happen. That means it is done. I had to help my father to vote.

If you do not know how to vote then here are some tips for you.
1    Go to the website www.eci.nic.in
2    Click on search your name in the voters list.
3    Select your state.
4    Click on find polling station
5    Carry valid id like adhaarcard/passport/driving licence
6    Also make a note of your serial no.

Now you are ready for voting!

The Dangerous Shikra Visits Again

Beware of this bird!

Yesterday, when I came back from school. I was playing Subway Surf game on my tab while sitting at the dining table. Suddenly, my pet birds were screeching. Then I saw a big bird sitting on the railing of the balcony where the cage is kept. It was a Shikra. It is very dangerous. If you have pet birds be careful as the Shikra can harm them. When I saw it I started shouting at the top of my voice. I called out to Jyotsna Mashi, my governess. Then my governess came running. She also saw the Shikra. She then opened our balcony door frightening the Shikra that immediately flew off. As we wrote in the last blog post, one Shikra had come to harm our pet birds. It was probably the same bird. This time again we managed to save our birds. Nowadays as a precaution we keep the cage inside the dining room at night.
